Fair enough if they can't offer exact support for every usb guitar input device becuase they develope around the realtone but I think it sucks and should implement this, they implemented mikemode, does USB mike mode not work? It's like the COD franchise saying you need to buy this controller. Why will UBI not implement a patch themselfs? I have the real tone cable and find the Behringer functions exactly the same. But since I've recently spent most of my saving on actually getting a guitar, I most certainly don't want to buy a product that just doesn't work for me.Originally posted by Jimi the monkey:I own the game legit bought through steam. I'd love to know that the issues I have is because I've aquired the game from "other" sources (again, to see if and how it works). but the game just flat out refuses to give me points. It's just infuriating when a) the game clearly recognizes notes at the start (when it checks to see if the guitar is in tune, tuner also works) and b) I can hear the guitar just fine IN THE GAME. I was able to play through half a song at most I think, and when it worked the game was awesome and the dynamic difficulty is excellent. WHY THE HELL NOT?! IT'S WHAT ASIO'S FOR! :Pĭon't get me wrong. If it uses ASIO, then which driver if I have serveral? If it's not using ASIO, then. To this date I don't know if it's using ASIO drivers or the built-in Windows sound drivers (I'm thinking the latter, as the game looks for an input device with a specific name). The almost criminal error Rochsmith does is that it has absolutely no settings besides generics. On the PC side of things I've got an old Audigy 2 card with kX drivers. Both inputs work, but the USB has a small delay, while whatever delay there is on the analogue I can't hear it. JTV-89 Variax (effects off - for the game I'm using just the pickups) -> Line6 ToneDirect GX -> USB to PC for digital signal / routed analogue output from the GX to the PC using Line-in. I can also record it using the ToneDirect input device (with some minor delay) or reroute it back to the PC using line-in. I don't think I have a problem with my setup - the guitar works and I play it. Suggestions such as "reconnect the cable" are not really acceptable solutions. If others - those with the cable as well - have this problem, then this is a really really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bug, and I'm amazed it hasn't been fixed yet. I've managed to go through about half of the first song before it all went to hell. I've went as far as lowering volume on the Line6 TonePort XG recording device to 3% and turned the volume on the guitar as low as I could (before the game would stop hearing the guitar at all). I've already seen and tried those suggestions. As I said, I expected this to be a major problem because their propriatary cable might work differently. Well, if this is a problem with Rocksmith in it's full form, then I'll need to rethink buying this. Unplugging and reinserting the cable usually restores note-recognition. The consensus of opinion is that it is caused by excessive input killing the note recognition - turning down the guitar's volume knob can help minimise the impact of this as can cleaning out the guitar's knobs to minimise pops and crackles. This is a known issue with Rocksmith - and occurs even with the genuine real tone cable although people using 3rd party solutions tend to experience it more often as far as I can tell. Originally posted by Shaamaan:Needless to say the game recognized the guitar (with the aformentioned "fix") however would stop recognizing notes sometime after a song has started (despite the guitar being heared and producing sounds in the game). please feel free to assist with this discussion, and educate me on any misconceptions I may have in my opinions above. Steam is a Digital Rights Management company that historically does not dictate the types of "controllers" we choose to access our games.*** The players are simply looking for a way to change the physical input device to access the software. ***I do not believe this fix to be anything more than a (mod) as allowed by most STEAM ToS. however feel free to contact me for details. I cannot go into deatil here as to how I accomplished this feat. There is a very simple (.exe fix) / (mod) that can be used in place of the game's original. The game inherently looks specifically for the "Real Tone" cable. Lightsnake [I had recently purchased the Lightsnake from Guitar Center, and was sure it would work with the game. I got the game working with an alternate (1/4") to USB cable.
